Tom Kohl

Tom's story on how he got into watersports: I come from a family of waterskiers. I am the third generation, starting with my grandparents. As the story goes, my Grandmother learned to ski in a water filled road ditch behind a horse! I first kneeboarded when I was 5 years old, the week before kindergarten started. I was so proud to bring those pictures into school for show and tell. Growing up on the water, watching my parents enjoy all sorts of skiing taught me to love it all. Over the years I have fallen in love with just about every type of towed watersport, but kneeboarding has always had a spot in my heart. Never giving up on kneeboarding and staying true to myself, even when the spotlight shifted to wakeboarding is really what made me stand out and set the groundwork for my career in the sport. Now I am a husband and father of two. Teaching my kids to ski and watching them fall in love with the sport the way I did has been one of my life's greatest achievements.
