Mizuki's story on how he got into watersports: I started wakeboarding on a family trip to a place where the sand was white, the water was a perfect shade of blue, and coconut trees lined the shore. Looking down, I could see fish and stingrays swimming beneath me. From the moment I got up on the board, I fell in love with the sport.
What I love most about wakeboarding is that there’s always room to improve. The feeling of landing a new trick cleanly is unbeatable, and I love sharing my knowledge with others who are trying to learn. It’s exciting to see someone finally nail the trick they’ve been working on. More than anything, wakeboarding makes me feel free. When I’m out on the water, all my stress disappears. I’m not thinking about anything else—just wakeboarding and pushing myself. It’s almost like meditating. Out there, it feels like it’s just me and the water.
